The Old Testament includes stories of God calling to his people, such as Isaiah’s vision to go prophesy to the people: Isaiah 6:8 "Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? and who will go for us?’ and I said "’Here I am, Lord, send me.’” All four Gospels include stories of Jesus calling his disciples (Matthew 4:18-22, 9:9; Mark 1:16-20, 2:13-14; Luke 5:1-11. 27-28; John 1:35-50). Luke 5:10b "Then Jesus said to Simon, ‘Do not fear, from now on you will be catching men.’ And when they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed Him."
In these stories, people respond to God’s call. We are called to do the same. Ephesians 4:1 "I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, entreat you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called." Are your ears open? Have you heard God call you to serve Him? Please pray.
