Welcome to
September and to a new school year. On Tuesday, September 7th students and their families will participate in our Get Acquainted Day. This one hour session allows the children to meet their classroom teacher, find their coat hook and cubby and have the opportunity to look around the classroom under the watchful, protective eyes of their parents. Our year officially will begin the very next day when we open our doors at 7:30 AM to welcome in the first group of smiling faces. On Wednesday, September 15th we will hold our Parent Assembly in the Church Sanctuary at 6:30 PM. The ALP Staff is very excited about the new school year.We still have a few openings in our program. If you know of anyone that is looking for an excellent Early Childhood Program, please have them contact the preschool office at 268-2010.

NEED VOLUNTEERS TO WORK IN OUR GARDEN
We are in need of volunteers to clean up the garden area, to prepare the containers and fill the water barrels. You can work in the garden on Sundays between 10 - 11 a.m. and/or 12:15 - 1:15 p.m. We hope to have a great gardening season.

Rally Day will begin very early Sunday morning with a couple of Scout chefs starting the beef roasting on spits. There will be one worship service starting at 10:00 a.m. Ascension’s children will help with worship and our third graders will receive new Bibles. At 11:30, there will be time to listen to the leaders of all the classes – an education buffet! Then at noon, go to the Haimerl Center for a Tailgate Party, featuring the beef prepared by our chefs and roasted corn-on-the-cob. Please bring your favorite side dish or dessert to share. (You can drop off your food at the Haimerl Center before the worship service begins.) At 1 p.m. we’ll have games, prizes and surprises. (One or two of your favorite people might just get a little wet!)
