Quotes of the Month In Rome, many people maintain the custom of throwing something out the window on New Year’s Eve. What a relief to get rid of every old resentment, every old fear, old prejudices, old notions, old ways of doing things. —Dr. Norman Vincent Peale
Never Clutch the past so tightly that it leaves your arms unable to embrace the present. Happy New Year! —St. Rocco’s Church Newsletter, Martin’s Creek, PA
ON LOAN TO THE LIBRARY — The videos about fair trade and the Lutheran World Relief quilts and kits projects have been very popular. So popular in fact that a request was made to have them available for lending. During the months of January and February the following videos are available to be checked out: Ordinary to Extraordinary — What happens to the quilts and kits we put together for LWR? Travel to LWR to Mali, West Africa and see how quilts, pencils, and soap become gifts of God’s love. From Bean to Bar — Meet the farmers of Kuappa Kokoo, and innovative cocoa grower’s cooperative in Ghana, and learn about the cocoa industry and fair trade. Grounds for Hope — Travel to Latin America to learn how coffee is produced and meet the farmers who grow and harvest the fair trade coffee that Lutherans enjoy through the LWR Coffee Project.
