 Helping Hands News

                                                                        September Helping Hands Clinic News

Ascension was able to make a gift to Helping Hands with seed money from the Ada Wilson estate. Thank you for your donation to the Helping Hands Health and Wellness Center, Inc. in the amount of $300, dated May 25, 2010. Your gift is greatly appreciated. Because of generous and caring people like you, we are able to maintain a clinic that is very successful in helping those in need. We have been able to expand to three nights a month thanks to God and our wonderful friends and supporters.

You are a blessing to us and our health ministry to help those in need. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and compassion for the patients at Helping Hands. We are grateful for your devotion to the clinic.

Thank you and God Bless, Joyce L. Bourgault, Executive Director

We are excited that Blair Blumenscheid, selected Ambassador of the Year by the United States Bowling Congress and President of the 2010 OSU bowling team, is helping to organize our event.  The 2nd Annual Bowl to Help fundraiser will be held on Sunday, October 17 with a choice of bowling times from 1 to 3 pm or 3 to 5 pm at the Columbus Square Bowling Palace. A DJ from WCOL, 50-50 cash drawing, Silent  Auction, bowling clowns and a contest for best holiday costumes will add to the fun.  We are asking for your helping hands so that the Free Clinic can help serve more patients in need of health care.

We still need businesses and churches to help sponsor our event.  Encourage your company or club to register as a team and raise donations. Your team might even get to bowl with an OSU pro!  The top three fundraisers will receive their choice of raffle prizes. Win a private bowling lesson with Blair!     For the $25 registration, participants receive a T-shirt, bowling, bowling shoes, food and beverage.    Visit our website http://helpinghandsfreeclinic.org to download any of the bowling forms, view the sponsors, great Silent Auction and raffle prizes. To donate items for the Silent Auction or learn about becoming a contributing sponsor, please contact us at 614-262-5094 or bowltohelp@yahoo.com.

A2Z Collision Repair and Services donates 10%

As you know, Helping Hands Health and Wellness can only operate with enough grants and donations for us to purchase the necessary supplies and medications. we are all looking for ways to raise funds for the clinic and Wally, one of our volunteer's husband, has offered to contribute to the success of our operation.  As a body shop owner, Wally will give 10 % of his labor on bodywork and any paint job he performs when the work order is accompanied by the attached flyer.  10% does not seem to be a lot but with your cooperation and your confidence, it can quickly add up.  In addition, aware of our current economic situation,Wally is greatly discounting his work in an effort to help people with limited means maintain their vehicle and keep them running longer.  Please share the flyer with your friends and relatives residing in the Columbus area and ask them to support Wally's effort by patronizing his garage, A2Z Collision Repair and Services.

Kroger Community Rewards

Beginning April 1, 2010 for Helping Hands to continue earning rewards during the coming year, everyone must enroll or re-enroll.  Go to Kroger, click on Ohio to sigh up for an account or click on Already Enrolled Sign In.  All participants must have a valid online account to participate.  Be sure you select Organization Name:  Helping Hands Health and Wellness Center, Inc. or Organization Number:  83707

In the past quarter we earned about $300, so every purchase with your Kroger card helps. If all volunteers enroll and encourage others to enroll, we can watch Helping Hands' earnings soar during 2010.

Goodsearch Toolbar

we have something new and exciting we'd like to share with you!  It's the new Helping Hands Health and Wellness Center toolbar - once added to Internet Explorer or Firefox, each time you shop at more than 1,300 stores (from Amazon to Zazzle) a percentage of your purchase will automatically be donated to Helping Hands Health and Wellness Center, Inc. - at no cost to you (and you may even save money as the toolbar provides coupons and deals as well.)  The toolbar also has a search box and each time you search the Internet, about a penny is donated to Helping Hands Health and Wellness Center, Inc.

Please visit our website for dates of the clinic, good health information, how to volunteer and other ways to donate.
