Hi! (or G'Day)
I have the great privilege of being the pastor of Ascension
Lutheran Church.
I started at Ascension in May 2007, having served churches in
Australia and New Zealand. I am married to Mary, an R.N., and we have 4 sons. We now are permanent residents of the
U.S. And having lived in the US
for almost 6 years, we are getting more familiar with life here, including the
grayness of winter and the beauty of spring. The church festivals like Christmas and Easter fit better
with the seasons of the northern hemisphere.
Now, let me introduce you to Ascension Lutheran Church.
We are both a neighborhood and regional gathering of Christians on the north
side of Columbus.
We are very focused on sharing Jesus' grace and healing. (Ascension has had a
long history of healing ministries, especially with 12-step and grief
groups.) You will see "Helping Hands" on our website, a free
medical clinic based at Ascension.
We are a diverse group of Jesus' people - from a variety of ethnic and national
backgrounds - with a tolerance for a range of political and social views, and
with a love for worship.
You will see that we have a traditional and a contemporary worship service on
Sunday mornings, and in between the worship services, Christian education and
fellowship for all ages.
Also, there are many opportunities to be involved in ministry here.
