GRIEF SUPPORT
Are you tired of saying, "I'm fine" when you are still hurting inside?
GriefShare: A group experience for anyone who has lost a significant person in their life
Have you lost someone significant in your life? You need not walk through this time alone. At GriefShare you will find others experiencing similar circumstances. Everyone can walk the journey of grief at their own rate in a safe, caring and nonjudgmental atmosphere. It makes no difference how long a time has passed since your loss.
Here's what some of the participants have said:
"At GriefShare I found people who really understood what I was going through."
"I felt so relieved to find that some of my feelings were not weird - they were normal!"
These quotes from past participants give you a glimpse of the relief and comfort they felt after participating in the group. GriefShare is a Christian-based (non-denominational) weekly seminar and support group that meets for 13 weeks and offers support, care, and encouragement to those grieving the loss of someone close. Using workbooks, videos and discussion, trained facilitators lead the group through their grief journey together.
Ascension Lutheran Church, 1479 Morse Rd, will offer GriefShare this fall:
Sundays, beginning September 12 and ending on December 5, 2010
1:30 - 3:00 p.m.
GriefShare is open to all members of the community. It makes no difference how long a time has passed since their loss. Flyers about GriefShare are available by contacting the church. You may begin attending at any session.
Registration Fee: $12; scholarships available. For more information or to register, call the church at 262-7389 or email to ascluth@insight-bc.com.
If you know of a friend, a relative or a neighbor who might benefit from grief support, please cut out this article and give it to them - it would be a caring thing to do.
