Haiti Mission (Living Hope Ministries)

Living Hope Ministries was founded in 1994 and is located in Grande Saline, Haiti. The ministry includes a church, a primary school for pre-school through 6th grade, a trade school that offers training in five different trades, and community projects.
This ministry to the Haitian people was founded September 21, 1994 in Columbus, Ohio. It was then implanted in Mariani, Haiti, in April 1995.

God gave Mary Jane (Basel) Jolibois a vision to start this ministry after she had already served in the Haitian country as a missionary for eight years with NEW Missions.

October 16, 2010 at Der Dutchman, Plain City, Ohio. Come join us to celebrate God's grace through LHM's 15 years in Haiti, including the tragedies, challenges, and

blessings of 2010. What a year it has been for Haiti and LHM - from the devastating earthquake, to the outpouring of support, to the rebuilding that has now begun. In some ways,

this year is representative of all of LHM's 15 years in Haiti. From the early days of one small building and a budding ministry, through the years of the orphanage, and the evolution to an education focus with a wide range of programs, LHM has experienced many challenges, a few tragedies, and a wealth of blessings. Through these 15 years, LHM has touched the lives of thousands of people - in Haiti, the US and other countries. And thanks to many of you, LHM has been able to play an important role in helping individuals and families since the earthquake. During this year's event, you'll hear more about the new, multi-year plans LHM has to help rebuild and rejuvenate Haiti.

Exciting new developments are already in progress on the LHM campus, even while the ministry provides ongoing programs for Haitians to learn valuable skills, worship, and build relationships. We'll have a terrific dinner at Der Dutchman, a live and silent auctions, and great fellowship. We would like to thank everyone that made it possible for us to go to Haiti. It was a life changing experience that we will never forget and look forward to going again.

We helped with Vacation Bible School for the week that we were there, the theme was "Go for the Gold". We prepared the materials needed for the next day in the afternoon. Vacation Bible School was from 8 am to 12 noon. We had crafts and games along with the Bible verse and a lunch was served after. We had an average attendance of 300 each day. The children were fun to work with, and looked like they had a great time.   At the end of the week we helped some kids give their life to Christ, and found this very moving and inspiring for us in our faith. We're not sure who walked away with a better learning experience, the kids of Haiti or us.

Again we want to thank everyone for making this trip possible, and are looking forward to the next mission trip to share God's love.

Hello everyone,

First I want to start out saying thank you to all the church members, to the friends, and everyone I forgot for all the prayers and sponsorships that were giving to all of us to come here, in Haiti. So far I have enjoyed every second of this trip. Haiti is very, very similar to Tanzania. It is very, very, very beautiful. I've had so much fun with the workers here at the mission, mostly the youth. They have taught me a great amount of Creo. I feel like I'm in Creo class sometimes, which is really nice. I think the language is very beautiful.

So far VBS has been so much fun and adventure. The children are angels sent from above. I gotta go so I hope to talk to you later.

Greetings From Haiti!

All is well. VBS had 305 kids today, so we are tired! VBS goes from 8:00 am to noon each day.We have 40 people help with VBS which includes Americans. The US kids are doing games and crafts, The us adults are doing food, laundry photography and preaching. Yesterday we had 223 kids which includes babies.

Thank you Ascension for supporting our trip to Haiti. Everyone is doing good and experiencing a lot. God has been amazing through rough, funny, hot weather, and animal noises. You're a blessing to the group. We will never forget your prayers, love and generosity to Haiti and Living Hope Ministries.
