WELCA BIDS ADIEU

    It is with great sadness that I write this report.  As of December 31, 2009, WELCA is no longer an organization of Ascension. The main reason for this was lack of women willing to undertake the leadership positions. It has also been getting more difficult to find volunteers for events and programs. WELCA has accomplished many things over the years and I wish to truly thank all the women who have been active and given so much of their time and talents.

    The following activities and their leaders will remain active. The only difference is that they will be independent of WELCA.  If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact them.

    Layettes - Ida Ford

    Cancelled Stamps - Irene Guiler

    Funeral Dinners - Pat Abele

    Military and Faith Mission - Lois Keck

    Food Pantry - Ingrid Robb

    Kitchen - Celeste Schnabel

The only group that is not continuing is quilting, which has been stopped for lack of people who can help with the quilting. The sewing machine and supplies are being sent to Gethsemane Church, who have a very active quilting group and are very appreciative of any supplies.
